Plumed Sentinel Figurine

In ancient Greece, the horse was a symbol of nobility, honour and the heroic spirit. Early sculptors cast it in bronze and clay as elongated, stylised forms with long legs, proud necks and simplified heads, while warriors wore tall, fan-like plumes upon their helmets. The Plumed Sentinel figurines bring these two timeless images together, reimagined as refined contemporary sculptures with an air of quiet ceremony.

Each horse rises on four long, cylindrical legs, an exaggerated, architectural stance that gives the pieces remarkable height, poise and presence. Above, the compact bodies curve gently into a raised neck and a simple, tubular muzzle. Crowning each head is a sweeping, semicircular crest, finely incised with radiating lines like the feathers of a ceremonial plume. A matching fan-shaped tail balances the composition from behind, so each figure reads as a harmonious arc from crest to tail.

The surfaces are decorated entirely by hand. Small stamped circles and spirals dance across the flanks, while fine dotted textures cover the chest and neck like delicate armour or embroidered cloth. The bodies and legs are glazed in deep bronze, gunmetal and olive tones that shift and pool across the textures, catching the light along every curve. Against this rich, metallic-looking base, the crests and tails are finished in a soft, matte dusty mauve, creating an elegant contrast that feels both ancient and modern.

These are not mass-produced ornaments. Each Plumed Sentinel is sculpted, stamped, carved and glazed entirely by hand. Because every crest, pattern and curve is shaped individually, and because each glaze responds uniquely in the kiln, no two figurines are ever exactly alike. The subtle variations in form, texture and finish are the signature of true craftsmanship, and they make your Plumed Sentinels collected treasures that are entirely your own.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. As each piece is handmade, slight variations in shape, glaze and texture are natural.
