Amber Reef Sculpted Bowl

Beneath the ocean's surface, coral reefs grow slowly over centuries into some of the most intricate forms in nature: branching fans, ridged columns and porous walls shaped by tide and time. The Amber Reef bowl draws on that underwater world, reimagining its beauty as a sculptural vessel for the home.

The bowl is built from a series of bold, vertical ribs that flare outward from the base and rise into sharp, peaked points along the rim. Each rib is shaped by hand, so they swell, twist and taper in their own way, creating a crown-like silhouette full of movement and energy. At either end, the form opens into sculpted, pierced loops, as though eroded by water, which give the bowl a sense of lightness and allow glimpses of light and shadow to pass right through.

The surface is where the reef truly comes alive. Fine pits, ripples and hollows are worked into every rib, recalling the porous texture of coral, sea sponge and wave-worn stone. A layered glaze of warm sand, caramel, toffee and deep umber settles unevenly across the textures, pooling darker in the recesses and lighter on the raised edges. Within the hollows and inside the bowl, soft pearl and ivory tones glow gently, like the inner lustre of a shell, which gives the piece its name and a quiet, luminous depth.

The Amber Reef is as versatile as it is beautiful. Use it as a sculptural centrepiece on a dining table, console or coffee table, or let it anchor a styled shelf or plinth. Fill it with seasonal fruit, natural stones, sea glass, candles or dried botanicals, or leave it empty to be admired as a work of art in its own right. Its strong silhouette also makes it a striking focal point in an entryway or reading corner.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. As each piece is handmade, slight variations in shape, glaze and texture are natural.
