Onyx Crown Decor Bowl

Some objects feel as though they have been unearthed rather than made. The Onyx Crown has that rare quality, recalling fossils, ancient ceremonial vessels and the sculptural forms of bone and stone shaped over millennia. Yet its clean, confident silhouette feels entirely at home in the most contemporary of spaces.

The bowl is formed as a low, generous ring, its walls punctuated by a series of broad, flared shapes that rise and fan outward around the circumference. Each one is pinched and pressed by hand, with softly rounded edges that curve like petals, fins or the arc of a vertebra. Between them, the walls are pierced with organic openings, creating a rhythmic pattern of solid and void that lets light filter through and casts shifting shadows across the surface beneath. Small, pointed peaks rise along the inner rim, completing the crown-like silhouette and adding a subtle, sculptural tension.

The finish brings depth and quiet drama. A deep onyx and charcoal glaze covers the form with a soft satin sheen, while gentle bronze and graphite undertones rise along the edges and raised surfaces as light moves across them. The subtle irregularities of the handmade surface, small ripples, dimples and softened contours, invite touch and give the bowl the look of hand-cast metal while retaining the warmth of fired clay.

The Onyx Crown is as versatile as it is striking. Display it as a sculptural centrepiece on a dining table, console or coffee table, or let it anchor a styled shelf or plinth. Fill it with natural stones, seasonal fruit, pillar candles, moss or dried botanicals, or use it as a dramatic catch-all in an entryway. Left empty, it stands confidently as a work of art in its own right, its silhouette and openings creating a captivating play of light and shadow throughout the day.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. As each piece is handmade, slight variations in shape, glaze and texture are natural."
