Ivory Pod Ribbed Vase

Some of nature's most beautiful forms are its quietest: a seed pod holding the promise of new life, the ribbed shell of a sea urchin, the soft segments of a ripening gourd. The Ivory Pod vase draws on these humble yet perfect shapes, transforming them into a sculptural vessel of remarkable presence.

The vase rises from a small, grounded foot and swells into a generous, rounded body before gently drawing in toward a small, organic mouth. Its silhouette is softly asymmetrical, built by hand so it feels natural and alive rather than machine-perfect. Fine vertical ribs divide the form into gentle segments, curving from base to rim like the seams of a pod or the meridians of a globe. Across these segments, rows of raised horizontal ridges are layered one above the other, creating a rhythmic, almost woven pattern that gives the surface rich texture and architectural depth. At the top, the opening is softly irregular, with a small raised point along the rim adding a subtle, sculptural accent.

The glaze brings the form to life. A soft, glossy ivory and cream finish flows across the raised surfaces, pooling and thinning to reveal warm taupe, sand and caramel tones within the grooves. This interplay of pale and warm tones highlights every rib and ridge, so the vase reads beautifully from across the room and rewards a closer look with layers of subtle detail. As natural light moves across it, the textures shift between gentle shine and soft shadow.

The Ivory Pod is equally striking as a standalone sculpture or as a vessel. Place it on a stone ledge, console, sideboard, coffee table or plinth to create a calm focal point, or style it with a single dried stem, olive branch or sculptural botanical for a refined, gallery-like arrangement. Its generous scale also makes it a beautiful anchor for a corner, an entryway or a reading nook.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. As each piece is handmade, slight variations in shape, glaze and texture are natural.
