Coral Relic Sculpted Vase

The ocean is the world's oldest gallery. Over centuries, it shapes coral into branching fans, polishes shells into luminous forms and leaves behind relics that feel both ancient and alive. The Coral Relic vase captures that sense of discovery, as though it had been lifted from the seabed or unearthed from a long-forgotten shoreline.

The vase begins with a full, rounded body that flares outward on either side into broad, fan-like wings with softly ruffled, scalloped edges, much like the halves of an open shell. A gentle central seam runs vertically through the form, adding structure and a subtle sense of symmetry. From this generous base, the vase draws inward and rises into a slender neck, flanked on both sides by a series of lobed, finger-like fins that step upward like branches of coral, the plates of a fossil or the segments of an ancient sea creature. The result is a silhouette that feels both botanical and marine, delicate and bold at the same time.

The surface is rich with handmade detail. Fine scratches, feathered marks and tiny ridges are worked across the body, recalling the grain of shell, the texture of coral or the patterns left by water on stone. The glaze brings it all to life. A glossy pearl, ivory and oyster-grey finish flows across the centre of the form, while deep bronze, umber and chocolate tones gather along the ruffled edges and fins, mottling and breaking in beautiful, unpredictable ways. This contrast highlights every curve and contour, and as light moves across the surface, the vase shimmers softly like the inside of a shell.

The Coral Relic is equally captivating as a standalone sculpture or as a vessel. Display it on a stone ledge, console, sideboard, plinth or window sill, where its unique silhouette can be appreciated against a pale wall. Or style it with a single dried stem, sea grass or delicate botanical for a minimal, gallery-like arrangement. Its compact yet commanding presence makes it equally at home on a bookshelf, side table or bedside.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. As each piece is handmade, slight variations in shape, glaze and texture are natural.
