Bronze Bark Fluted Vase

Walk through an old forest and you'll find sculpture everywhere: bark split and furrowed by decades of growth, driftwood hollowed by water, fallen trunks weathered into silvery, fluted forms. The Bronze Bark vase captures that quiet, natural artistry and translates it into a striking sculptural vessel.

The vase rises from a narrow, grounded base and fans outward as it climbs, widening into a broad, generous silhouette. Its body is shaped into deep vertical flutes, each one pressed and pleated by hand, so they swell and taper naturally like the folds of bark or the ribs of a palm frond. At the top, these flutes rise into a series of uneven, peaked points, creating a lively, crown-like rim that feels shaped by nature rather than by design.

On either side, the form extends into tall, wing-like edges that have been sculpted and pierced with a series of organic openings, as if eroded by wind and water over time. These hollows give the vase a remarkable sense of lightness and movement, allowing light and shadow to pass right through and adding depth from every angle.

The glaze gives the piece its warmth and drama. Layers of sand, cream, caramel and burnished bronze flow across the fluted surfaces, while fine streaks of deep umber run vertically through each groove like the dark grain of weathered wood. Along the pierced edges, the tones deepen and mottle, giving the vase a beautifully aged, organic finish. As light moves across it, the raised flutes catch soft highlights while the grooves fall into rich shadow, so the vase never looks quite the same twice.

The Bronze Bark is equally striking as a standalone sculpture or as a vessel. Display it on a console, sideboard, mantel, shelf or plinth as a bold focal point, or style it with dried branches, pampas, palm leaves or sculptural stems for an elevated, gallery-like arrangement. Its fan-shaped silhouette makes it especially beautiful against a plain plaster or neutral wall, where its outline and openings can be fully appreciated.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. As each piece is handmade, slight variations in shape, glaze and texture are natural.
